It's been difficult for me to get back to the blog. It seems that people are still reading though because someone anonymously left a critical message the other day. Can't please everyone. If you're still reading, thank you for your patience and loyalty!
I am homesick. Dear Chicago, I'll be there as soon as possible, lets say Thanksgiving.
I'm settling into a new job. So far, so good. It's a new challenge and for that, I am grateful.
Football season is upon us! You know this is my favorite time of year. I've been playing fantasy football for eight years with my homeboys, but this just may be the first year I skip our league. I've agreed to play in a free league though. I draft on Sunday.
M.ichael V.ick is back, and D.onovan Mc.Nabb is still my hero. His gesture is a prime example of how black love is way deeper than the mainstream understands.
I want a beautifully landscaped backyard just like the one Kenya McQueen has in the movie Something New.
2009 is flying by, but is has proven to be so much better than my '08.
Vodka Gimlets are my new sip of choice.
I'm still on my "grow out, blow out"; wearing braids at this moment, and I've yet to reach my desired length, but I'm sticking to it. I have my days when I think that a fresh ball player's cut will do just fine, but I always talk myself out of it. I'll post a picture soon.
Speaking of plans, a P.R. certificate is on my roll call, classes begin Sept. 21st, asking for all prayers. Also, have to complete what I started with my R.E. license, pray for me on that too, please. :)
Health care for everyone. Seems like such a sensible concept. Yet, there is so much opposition, people are afraid to share, as if sharing means losing. It's shameful. I am for universal health care. The best way to achieve this? I am not sure. All I know is that I've been on both sides of the coin and while I'm blessed to be amongst the insured right now, I can tell you that sitting in a county hospital's emergency room for basic care is no walk in the park. It sucks, and no one deserves that.
I've been listening to Angela Winbush. Her voice is what's moving me these days.
I need to take my lunch everyday this week. Saves time and money.
I have not been steppin' in a very long time. My fave dance partner reached out to me the other day. If anyone can get me back on the floor, he can.
Yes, I'm still in love with our President and the lovely First Lady.
May God bless us all.

A Monday Mind
I think I have writer's block. That's what I get for thinking.
I think that Bo, the Obama's new puppy is just as cute as can be, and if I were allowed pets, I would have a cute dog too.
Its almost time for the NB.A playoffs and I am very excited. I just don't want to see any games that mirror that performance by the Ce.ltics yesterday. What was that?
Red Velvet cake is comforting.
I need to purchase a new operating system for my desktop and, dammit, I just don't want to!
I want a pair of L.A.M.B.'s in my closet when I awake tomorrow.
The hair will be braided on Wednesday. It's time.
Its also time to get rid of this lil' gut I've acquired. (See Red Velvet cake)
My garden is shaping up nicely and the flowers are blooming beautifully. This is something I am very proud of.
I love, love, love my jersey sheets.
I have a noisy neighbor, what do you think I should do? She is about 21 or 22, and I remember those days, so I try to be cool, but DAMN, she is pushing it!
I need some J. California Cooper in my life. Its time to crack open one of her books.
I was gonna buy a S.nuggie today, but once I tried it out...... eh. Not so much.
Are you happy? Content? Pleased? Overjoyed? Lovin' and livin' well? If so, isn't it a blessing? I feel extremely blessed.
I am anticipating C.hrisette's new music, May 5th, also The Lady's birthday!
When are my White Sox coming to town??? I need to check the schedule.
Happy Monday!

Can you Smell What Nov. 4th is Cookin'?
If you have yet to vote, get ready for a busy Tuesday. Please don't be discouraged by long lines or inclement weather. Take your lawn chair, reading materials, some water and snacks, perhaps an umbrella, and some comfy shoes, just in case you must wait for hours. Charge up your I Pod or get extra batteries for your radio. Take your I.D.; even though it is not always required, have it just in case. Also, know that if you are in line before the time your poll closes, you cannot be turned away! Stay the course!
Wear your sunscreen, take your shades, or bundle up if your city is chilly. Lay low on the political gear, just in case it is an issue. Check with someone elderly or impaired who may need assistance getting to the polls. Be patient and kind with the poll workers, as they will have a rough day.
Don't hesitate to ask questions if you are uncertain of procedure and for goodness sake, check your ballot twice, before submitting your vote, especially if you are voting electronically!
Remain positive and smile to all whom you encounter, be encouraging, as this is a historical time, and we are blessed to be able to participate.
There is no telling what time the results will come in, so get ready to settle in, possibly, for an intense night, and maybe, morning after.
Below is a gift from D.P.

Less than ten days, less than ten days, less than ten days............ VOTE!
This may be the largest voter turnout, ever, in the U.S.!
The reality of an O.bama presidency is becoming more and more real and I am beginning to feel many things, like, excitement, nervousness, anticipation, pride, restlessness, joy, weariness, and sadness that loved ones who are no longer with me, didn't live to experience this milestone in history.
Did I tell you that someone hit my living room window, with my O.bama sign as the obvious target? HATERS!
Does Mc.Cain cry himself to sleep at night? Is P.alin plotting for world domination? Is E.lizabethH.asselbeck her co-conspirator? Just how much MORE wealth did G.W. accrue over these past eight years? How many more Red Party's are going to come out in support of "That One", really?
The bailout was B.S.
The J. Hud tragedy has me shook. The Crib is no joke sometimes.
Its time for me to go back to braids. I'm over the fro'. I say this lovingly.
The 30th anniversary of The Wiz was this past week. I love that movie, and its subliminal messages. Q and them were on one when they filmed it. LOL!
Los Angeles weather has been superb.
Kindred has a new release. Gotta get it. Love them.
My mom loves Link TV (check your local listings) and I haven't revealed this to her, but I have grown to dig it too! Knowledge truly is power. This channel is chock full of educational goodness.
Speaking of knowledge, if we all seek the truth about our country's underbelly dealings within and abroad, all indications would point to a need for revolution. But, we don't want to know the truth, we can't HANDLE the truth. We're too afraid we might miss our favorite TV program.
Back in the day, I was a bartender. I worked in the same place for six years. GREAT memories. This past weekend, I was called upon to bar tend a private, family function for a friend. So, I decided to take it back a lil'. Cute bobbed wig, push-up bra, tight jeans, high-heeled boots and loads of charm....... and yes, I made out very well in my tip jar. Some things never change. LOL!!!
Set a new goal today. Create an opportunity for someone else.
I have a confession........I ate a bag of 'skins over the weekend. Bad girl.
Credit is evil, but is it a necessary evil? Pay cash dammit!
Did anyone watch the Bubba, Ed, and Ted H.ipH.op Awards? Sigh.
There is something blissful about consuming pizza and beer, maybe it has something to do with the nap you're forced to take afterward.
B.enR.oethlisberger and B.rettF.avre combined for 6 INT's on Sunday; they are my Fantasy Football QB's, so each week is a toss up for me as to which one I will start. My boy D.H. refers to me as "Season Over", LOL! Speaking of season over, can you say Cincy?
Donnie Mac held it down against A-Town, of course. Can I trade for him? I need to look into that; someone tell JT to holla at his girl. (JT is in my fantasy league.)
M.ikeS.ingletary is a head coach. This is gonna be interesting.
I.saiahT.homas,what really good?
Basketball season is here! When the basketball and football seasons overlap, life is good.
J.immyR.ollins and R.yanH.oward are delicious, and so are C.arlosP.ena and B.J.Upton, and that's all I have to say until there is a winner in this series.
Where is season three of The Boondocks? I have worn the first two seasons out, I know the dialog. Someone tell A.aron Mc.Gruder to holla at me. I NEED SEASON THREE!
Facebook is a helluva drug.
Keep your eye on this shht our gov'ment just pulled in Syria. What kind of timing is this?

A Monday Mind
So, Ive been taking a break. But, I missed y'all, so I'm back.
I'm attempting to limit my News intake. My obsession with all things political and Salty Balls Wall Street is affecting me daily and I'm not functioning properly as a result. I have not been sleeping normally because I'm disturbed and my mind is cloudy. Seriously, my name is Toss and Turn.
T.inaFey and A.myPoehler have served up some of the funniest shht SNL has broadcasted in YEARS with the P.alin spoofs! I'm sick of that cheerleader! What was that K.atieCouric interview all about? WHAT WAS SHE SAYING??? Anyone up for meeting me for a beer Thursday to watch the VP debate? I have GOT to see this.
I'm tired of all this money being wasted to bail out some knuckleheads I don't even know. We're not even sure if The Bailout Plan will work? Is there a Plan B? Can I slap someone?
We all need to strengthen our financial acumen and be more involved with our government because clearly, they need a chaperon.
The debate was a bit dry, and yes Big B missed some opportunities to take the Samo Sword to the old man, but he did a fair job and I tip my hat his way. Next time, though, he needs to get intellectually gully. I'm sure he knows how.
C.hrisRock put W.illiamJ.effersonC.linton on blast and I would personally like to thank him! Bill is so obviously bitter.
All of the above makes me feel like this....
Moving on........
Check out my girl Traceye Smith at RollingOut.com.
My Poppa said that Miracle at St. Anna is a MUST see. I will be going this week. What about you?
K.eyshawnJohnson makes waking up on Sunday mornings that much better. Bless him and E.SPN N.FL Sunday Countdown.
B.rettFavre. He may have very well saved my season. I won't know until tonight, as I have the R.avens defense playing to close it out, but I'm only thirteen points away from a W, and that is mainly because Brett was a scoring machine on Sunday. However, should I lose this week.....I am 0-4. Damn injuries!
Prayers for M.attBryant and A.nquanBolden. Football really is life.
My White Sox live to see another day! (SMILES)
That Bears D is ferocious when it counts!
I think its a shame that ATL is still having fuel issues. My boy CAB calls me to gripe and I feel so bad for him. My cousin tells tales of waiting in the car with her kids and its all one big hassle. Its affecting peoples home life, work and businesses. Why can't we get it together for disaster preparedness?
I'm telling y'all, we need to hold Uncle Sam more accountable. The problem is that we've been lulled to sleep with perks, amenities and fancy gadgets. We THINK all is good, until Mother Nature rolls through, or our banks fail, or we lose our homes, and then its like "Oh Snap". No more of that, get your ass prepared!
I was a greedy pig this weekend. I am ashamed to name all the stuff I've eaten. But it comes in spurts, and my ladies can identify the culprit. All I know is, food is good!
Went to my lil' cousin's Friday Night Lights football game. Its little league and he looked so cute. Just don't let his Daddy hear me say that!
Can't wait for that R.obinThicke album on Tuesday!
Happy Monday! Obama '08!
Lets hope for a quiet week.

Football is magic. Pizza is magic. Beer is magic.
I'm catchin' flicks this coming weekend y'all! The Family That Preys, The Women, and Righteous Kill all open on Friday. Can't wait!
Speaking of movies, is Laz Alonzo gonna be a breakout star after his performance in Spike Lee's Miracle at St. Anna? Looks like it to me.....
A.ndrea K.ramer, who was once a poster child for the plain janes has stepped up her fab game once again this season, while my girl P.am O.liver missed her weave chair appointment once again. Damn, I swear she's one of the baddest in the sideline reporting game, but she could use a glam squad (no hate). M.ichelle T.afoya is my girl too. All of them are incredible, actually.
Will eating fresh baked spinach and swiss croissants and having a glass of bubbly every Saturday morning contribute to the increase of my rumpshaker (by the way, that's a good thing for me)? If so, I'm on a roll, 'cuz it has become a weekend ritual. The cute, young, tender French boy who sells the croissants at the Farmer's Market doesn't help either......
So, my cousin and I give Game's CD top billing over Wayne's joint. Besides, I barely understand what Wayne is saying half the time.
This natural hair care is no joke, but DAMN my hair feels good! I'm always lovin' up on my scalp. LOL!
If you have never stepped before, find a class. There is a Steppin' community in most major cities these days. Chicago is sharing! You will love this dance.
Serena Will is that deal! Congrats on the Open victory and welcome back to the number one spot babygirl, you are overwhelmingly deserving.
......as for the opponent Jelena Joke-a-witch, get some tact about yourself. You used your first appearance at a Grand Slam event to make an absolute fool of yourself with your immature antics and poor sportsmanship, during AND after the match. For a minute I thought commentator Mary Carillo was gonna go upside your head with her microphone.
While I'm checking folks for their behavior, I would be completely remiss if I left out Serena's father's.....ummmmmm, lady friend. Her romp on the tennis court after the match was uncalled for and borderline embarrassing. You were not at the Rucker.
I stopped by theybf.com to check out pics from the VMA's red carpet and my question is this......"what's wrong with people?"
When are Squirrel's gonna pull their pants up? I DON"T WANT TO LOOK AT YOUR ASS!!!!
When are Squirrel's gonna take full rows of jewelry out of their mouths? Is that hygienic?
I love the new Swiffer commercials with the "baby come back" mariachi theme. Hilarious.
The gov-ment just took over Freddie and Fannie? Who's next? When will we rebound from all this shht? I feel sorry for our children.........they will look back in history and say we were irresponsible and spineless for allowing the current administration and the, "whichever way the wind blows" media bend us over at will.
Say-Rah Paid-lin is giving ONE damn interview?? Are you kidding me? We're really going for this? WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!! We need to be on her raggedy, lying tail like they were and still are on B. Rocka.
My Auntie Day, back home in The Chi, said she cooked some collard greens yesterday. Now, I want some. But, they take SO long to cook, properly.
F.OX News is scary. I repeat, F.OX News is scary.
I'm trying my hand at an indoor plant. I got an orchid. Cross your fingers.

A Monday Mind
What goes through an opponents mind when they are staring at Venus or Serena or Venus and Serena (doubles matches) from across the net?
How do you know the difference between being in love with "the one" and being tested in preparation for "the one"?
Pets and children don't have bills. Can I return in my next life as one or the other?
Baseball season is really holding it down for me right now. The Windy City Series did not disappoint. Its a little strange living in a city far from the hometown and watching said hometown teams wallop on each other for six games. I wanted to be there. Go White Sox!
Football season is coming! That means my Fantasy League begins, Season 8!
I'm just gonna put it out there.........if for some reason I end up dating outside the race, and it becomes serious, and my future in-laws disapprove of my chocolate goodness, then I'm bailing on dude before things get out of hand. I love my life. How insane is it that a grown arse man would concieve of having his daughter-in-law, the mother of his granchild, ICED? Predjudice and racism is a muthaskunna. To my Indian brethren, your skin is brown. Get over it. Besides, black folks are that deal!
Sleep is underrated.
I can't say this enough. Ladies and Gentlemen, mani-pedi's are your friend.
Warning.....hold off on going to a new restaurant within its first few weeks of opening. They're still working out the kinks and you're probably gonna be irritated and turned off by the ambiance, food, and/or service. Trust me on this one. I've worked in a new retaurant and I've patronized them too. Good things come to those who wait.
Speaking of restaurants. As a hostes, why would you wear stripper shoes to work, knowing that you have to seat people all night? Hostess Girl, you were a great source of entertainment, as I was sure that you would eventually fall and bust your butt while tippin' across that slick floor.
Its probably a good idea to learn Spanish and/or Mandarin, and teach your children too.
How did we become so desensitized to human suffering?

I know its Monday, but hang in there!

Natural disasters have taken the lives of THOUSANDS of people in Myanmar and China's Sichuan province. Pray for our Asian brethren. Please recall how you felt when we watched our own folks helplessly suffering and dying in Louisiana and Mississippi in 2005. Though it may not seem the same...........it really is. Heartbreak and despair doesn't feel any different just because its on another continent.
Do worldly occurrences seem so bad because we have unlimited access to information and the media is now able to report from every little crack and crevice on the globe? Or, as my friend Stella wonders, are we approaching the return of Christ?
Historically black Morehouse College had its first White valedictorian this year. Some folks are trippin' and have there tightee whiteez all in a bunch. I say get the F over it, we're about to have our first Black president. Morons!
I'm a bit concerned about the future of our nation because our children aren't measuring up academically (especially in math and science) to some of our global counterparts. As adults, we are asleep at the wheel. You can continue to allow the gap between class and economic status widen if you want to........I'm just sayin'.
FYI, Best Buy has a product replacement plan, so the next time you shop there, ask about it. If I'd agreed to take it when I purchased my last camera, I'd be able to return this P.O.S. for another one. Note to self: get what you really want, the first go 'round!
The Celts eked out a win against Bron Bron and his boyz, now they have to go toe to toe with C Billz and the D Trois crew. As much as I'd like to see Jesus Shuttlesworth, The Big Ticket and The Truth get a chance to get smacked by The Lake Show, I say.........good luck against the Pistons. You're gonna need it.
Speaking of the Lakers, who will they play? The Hornets or the Spurs? Personally, I would prefer to see them play the youngsters of N.O., but tonight we'll get our answer. Plus, we also get to laugh with Ernie, Kenny and Charles. Halftime at its
best.
Back to the subject of LB James.......Yo, Cleveland! Get that boy some help! We Capricorns are dynamic and phenomenal human beings, but even the most genius among us need a lil' assistance at times.
Barack and the fam were in Oregon yesterday. Did you see that sea of folks that came out to support them? I'll be damned if I didn't wish to be a documentarian or photo journalist right about now. Can you imagine what it would be like to follow him around on this journey?
Speaking of the Senator, I am collecting his magazine covers for my future babies. They deserve to share in these historical moments as best as possible.
Also, Sean Damn-ity on Fo.x News needs to back up off Michelle Obama. He has seen no wrath like that of millions of black women coming down on his candy ass if he doesn't raise up.
Dear Man and Woman of My Image, here is another ridiculous example of the undervaluing of your chocolate life.
It's Monday y'all. Be easy.

We Wear the Mask
We wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,—
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
And mouth with myriad subtleties.
Why should the world be over-wise,
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us, while
We wear the mask.
We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries
To thee from tortured souls arise.
We sing, but oh the clay is vile
Beneath our feet, and long the mile;
But let the world dream otherwise,
We wear the mask!

The Prototype
I have a friend/Squirrel here in L.A. who swears that modern day women can't hold a stick to Rachel Robinson (just last week Mrs. Robinson was still representing for JRR and he's been gone to glory for thirty-six years) and Nancy Reagan when it comes to holding it down for ones man. "They just don't make 'em like that anymore", he says. He loves that they stood tall through thick and thin and aged gracefully and with dignity throughout it all. In his mind, a woman of that caliber is the ultimate prize, and I believe that he won't be satisfied until he finds his version.

Jackie and Rachel Robinson

Rachel Robinson
From Thomasine and Bushrod to Bonnie and Clyde, tales of women who act as both backbone and kryptonite for their men have always had a special place in my heart. You see, I consider myself to be of the same fabric (wink).
Fictionally and lightheartedly in this category, I think of Weezy (George), Helen (Tom), Claire (Cliff), and Claudine (Roop).
Historically, there was Coretta (Martin) and Betty (Malcolm). Presently, Alma (Colin), fills those shoes. But for me, there exist none better than Ruby Dee (Ossie), she is the quintessential.

Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee
There are contemporaries who perhaps fit the bill, but I don't want to stir up controversy, so I'll leave that alone.
However, Michelle Obama is proving herself to be a shining example. I dig her swag! I appreciate her confidence and sense of self. I admire her love and respect for Barack Obama. Check her handles.....
With a woman like this in his corner, a man stands a better chance.
Your thoughts?

What would my life be without a game or match to watch? Long live sports! Go Serena! Go Memphis! I didn't have Memphis going this far in my brackets, but the youngin', D. Rose, from The Crib (that's Chicago) has made me a believer.
Go Lakers! Go White Sox! Will someone please resuscitate The Bulls?
I attended the Lakers-Mavericks game Friday night. Staples Center was rockin'! Lamar Odom is my favorite Laker. He showed up for his team when Dallas had the clamps on KB24. That Dirk had his shot fallin' like raindrops. I didn't understand some of P. Jax's substitutions, but it worked, and it was a good game. There's something about that Zen philosophy....
Why do I impose a bedtime for myself, then F it off by watching the idiot box until my eyes burn. I just can't seem to go to sleep without having watched The Jeffersons.
Family is a blessing. I spent Saturday evening with my baby brother, Sam-U-El. He's been here visiting for a few days, tearing LA up with his homeboys and Cousin Pat. It was great to see them, they've grown into great men. We rolled through Roscoe's and ate ourselves into oblivion. I spent the early part of Sunday with my LA fam, for a christening. Baby Malia slept through most of the ceremony, but she was cute as a button!
Friends are a blessing. I spent the latter part of Sunday with my girl Dan Belle and her daughter, whom I affectionately call "Pippi". I won't tell her mama that Pip is plotting to find her a husband. She whispered this to me, so I'm sworn to secrecy. I thought it was adorable.
I've grown terribly weary of the Clinton campaign. Yes, my side-eye has now turned into a full, eye-rollin', stank azz stare down. On some token, I admire her for not giving up the fight, but I wonder how much more of her truth-stretching, arid humor, and pseudo pulpit swagger must be endured. Damn The Dems! We need a resolution!

The sister from NYC was voted off Oprah's Big Give. I'm sorry Babygirl, but it was time. I'd also grown tired of you looking like a broke down Whitney, each time you opened your mouth to sing. You're a beast about your biz though, polish it off and you can murda the game. Best Wishes.
I miss my Grandmothers.
It's time for me to get my braids redone. Anyone up for a take down party? I make great drinks!
Gas prices aren't gonna go down, are they?
My week is looking busy and bright. Hallelujah!
Fellas, never discount the value of a good edge or lining!
Ladies, trust me, pedicures are your best friend. Get yours today!

Dodger Blues
I just got home from the Dodgers game. That's right folks, the 50th Opening Day at Dodger's Stadium, seventy-two degrees, sunny and clear, iced cold Tecate and Dodger dogs. Oh yeah!
Ok, enough of that, now lets get real. The Dodgers organization needs that booty whipped. The parking arrangements are ridiculous and inconvenient (they could really benefit from some sort of shuttle service), the concession stands are mediocre, the restrooms are too few and far between, plus, they're old and poorly lit. Also, the stadium's usher staff is hard to find.
Granted, The Dodgers were victorious and sent the SF Giants packin' with a goose egg, but it was a lackluster experience at best. Maybe I'm just spoiled when it comes to sporting events. I attend my fare share, so I have a lot to compare this to. I also felt bad for my colleague and friend, because he just moved here from the East coast and I think he was expecting more.
The home team's faithful and diehard fans were out in droves, all dressed in Dodger Blue. It was a full house, which means only one thing.........drunkeness. My friend and I commented on how difficult it is to bring children to large sporting events because of all the lewd behavior. Folks really need to pipe down.
All in all, it was a lovely day, and I truly enjoyed connecting with my old friend. He tells GREAT stories that always have me laughing.
I think I'll wait for the hype of the new season to subside before I return to another game (probably when they play my home team White Sox). Baseball can be and should be a peaceful, relaxing experience. Someone should remind the big-wigs in the corporate offices.

A Monday Mind
I woke up this morning and the sun is shining brightly. Praise God!
I hope you enjoyed Easter!
Mondays are rough, but I have a list of things to accomplish and I'm fired up.
I have a Magic Bullet blender and in it I make my morning fruit smoothie. The Magic Bullet is amazing.
CNN reports that Kwame KP has been indicted along with his jumpoff.
CNN also reports that our casualties of war have reached the 4000 mark. I'm still asking, why?
Friday night, I went Steppin'. As usual, the instruction was good, and I had a nice time. My feet were cussin' me, steppin' ladies love to wear cute and sexy heels, it adds to your swagger when you're dancing. Luckily, I had a pair of flats for emergency purposes, and they came in quite handy.
Saturday, I planted Verbena, Alyssum, and some sort of Daisy. The Jasmine and Gardenia are making me anxious. I planted them in November and I am ready for their aromatic bloom. They're still alive so I must be doing something right. Everything else in my lil' garden is hangin' tough. I am happy that my Begonia are coming back. The Lady (Mom) is proud of me. I don't think in her wildest dreams, she could have ever imagined that I would take up gardening.
I also had a nice afternoon with a cousin that I don't see very often. He is planning to attend film school here. He lives back home in Chicago, and we have a substantial age difference (I'm older). We had a nice time. We went for sushi and I think thats the first time we've had an adult conversation.
I found out that my immediate neighbor is moving. This is a bummer because I adore her. She's a lil' old lady who is quiet as a church mouse. Never underestimate the value of a good neighbor. She will be sorely missed.
For me, March Madness has become March Sadness, as my bracket has self-imploded.
Sunday it was 87 degrees. BEAUTIFUL!
I also went to the hospital Sunday to visit one of my tenants. He was groggy and grumpy and basically told me to tear ass. I guess if I were ninety-one and had no family that cared enough to tend to my well-being, I'd be pissed too! That situation makes me sad.
I cooked a really nice Easter dinner. It was delicious. I am getting better at this. I might become a "kitchen bit.ch" one day, after all.
I watched two Trinity Easter services Sunday, live online broadcast. Food for my soul.
The Best Man was on network TV last night. Network TV knows how to screw up a great movie with editing and commercials. Good thing I own the DVD. Terrance Howard is a jewel in this flick!
I'm done. Gotta get back to my grind.

The Monday Mind
It's a beautiful seventy degree day here in LA.
I spent twenty-five dollars at the pump and in return, I got six gallons of gas.
I am a book store fiend. My trip to Barnes and Noble today, netted me a book by Dr, Ben Carson (which I needed for a writing assignment for a client), two magazines with Barack on the cover (I am collecting all his covers), the current issue of The New Yorker (great, extensive article about Michelle Obama) and this weeks copy of Backstage, an LA trade paper (cover story about the incomparable James Earl Jones).
Speaking of Barack, I'm glad that he put the lid on Hillary's slimy attempts to paint him as her "VP". WTF? Last time I checked, he was leading her in delegates and popular votes. He does not view himself as number two. I do not view him as number two, and her never ending silly antics are verifying that she, Bill, and her advisers are FULL of number two.
The Governor of NY is caught up in a sex scandal. He has been named in a prostitution ring. Just like all the other politicians that get busted on some b.s. involving women outside of their marriage, he too had his poor wife standing up there "by his side", looking all dazed and confused. One day, one of these broads is gonna cold cock a squirrel right upside the head, on camera. I believe this has recently happened in another country, perhaps Asia.
I had to renew my vehicle registration today. This is never a highlight. Why do I have to pay the county to drive my car?
I wish Girlfriends was coming on tonight. I will miss Girlfriends.
I thought The Wire series finale was decent. I just can't understand why, in the next to last episode, Mike dropped Dookie off on the streets to be a dope fiend. I thought they were homies. Mike knew that Dook just needed a head start. He had the brains. He could have made it. Now, Dookie is Bubbles Redux.
I watered my flowers and plants in my garden. They were calling my name each time I walked in and out of my pad. They were saying "Witch, we're thirsty!"
Gotta go.
